Buying and shipping

Buying and shipping FAQs from Rice importers.

Everything below reflects our standard practice. Contract terms always take precedence.

More than 60, across the Gulf and Middle East, Europe, North America, Africa, Russia and Central Asia, and Asia Pacific, from the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the UK to the USA, Kenya and Australia. The full list, country by country, is on our Global Presence page.

It depends on the variety, the pack size and whether the order is private label. Private label orders carry a minimum order quantity, which we confirm in the quotation for the variety and pack format you choose. Rice is loaded in factory stuffed containers, or by truckload for overland routes.

Yes, but samples are not free. The buyer pays the courier charge in advance by bank transfer. Send the Request a Sample form with the product, the quantity and your destination; we reply with the courier cost and our bank details, and the sample is dispatched once the payment is received.

Yes. We pack private label brands for buyers in more than 60 countries. You supply print-ready artwork; we print the bags, pack, test and ship. Startups and established brands are both welcome.

Consumer packs of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 25 kg, and bulk bags of 30 to 50 kg. Bag types: jute, PP non-woven, cotton, BOPP laminated woven PP, woven PP and LDPE, plus card boxes and jars.

Yes, within what the variety allows. Broken percentage, polish, grade, pack size and bag type are set to your contract. Our blending line mixes head Rice with a set share of broken Rice to your requirement, and two polishers are used depending on the finish you specify.

Payment is by direct bank transfer or letter of credit, on one of four standard terms: 30% advance with the balance against the bill of lading (CIF); 30% advance with the balance against the RFS bill of lading (FOB); 30% advance with the balance against documents (CIF); or 100% at sight letter of credit from a prime international bank (CIF). Terms may vary by contract, destination and shipment size.

FOR, FOB Karachi, CFR (also written CNF) and CIF to your destination port.

Karachi Port. Rice is dispatched from our units in Punjab and Karachi to the port, where it clears customs and loads onto the vessel.

Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading, fumigation certificate, phytosanitary certificate, insurance certificate and, for pesticide residue free Rice, a laboratory test report. Scanned copies are sent once the cargo is loaded; originals follow the final payment. Any additional certification or legalisation is charged extra.

Production starts once the advance or the letter of credit is in place and, for private label, the final artwork is approved. The bags are then printed, the Rice is packed and dispatched to Karachi Port. The shipment date is agreed in the proforma invoice, because it depends on the variety, the volume and the packaging.

Yes. Pre-shipment inspection of quality, weight and quantity is arranged whenever your contract requires it.

Yes. We work with SGS, Cotecna, BVQI and Eurofins inspections at the buyer's request.

Yes. Our own quality control laboratory checks each lot for moisture, purity, grain length and broken content before it ships. For pesticide residue free Rice, residue testing is done by accredited laboratories and the report travels with the shipping documents.

Yes, across the Basmati and Non-Basmati range, tested against the limit your market sets. See pesticide residue free Rice for how the programme works.

No. We do not supply certified organic Rice. For buyers with strict residue limits we supply pesticide residue free Rice, grown under a controlled programme and laboratory tested. It is not the same as organic certification.

Pesticide residue free Rice

Residue free Rice FAQs.

What the term means, who asks for it and why it costs more.

The crop was grown under a controlled programme and the finished Rice was laboratory tested against the limit your market sets. It does not mean nothing was ever applied to the crop, and it is not the same as organic certification.

Yes. Our contract farming programme grows lots to EU residue requirements, and a laboratory test report for pesticide residues is included in the shipping documents for those contracts.

Extra field monitoring through the season, segregation in storage and milling, accredited laboratory testing and the documentation around all of it. Demand is strongest from Europe, North America, Australia, Japan and South Korea.
